Inspired by Alexander Scriabin’s concept of a gesamtkunstwerk - a “total work of art”, as in a unified work that synthesizes many or all art forms, such as music, drama, and visual arts. I have decided to split this project into a few parts: there will be a list of my fears, typed then photographed using analogue film. Further analogue photos of relevant natural sceneries. A couple of poems extending from the above mentioned fears. A video consisting of presenting the burning and planting process instructed by the artist prompt. Some illustrations based upon the theme and finally an installation showing the final finished garden, grown upon the ashes of my fears. There is also an audience interactive part.

The thematic thread connecting the different mediums together is that of existentialism, memories, temporality and connection with nature. Through these antiquated mediums of analogue photography, typewriting and CRT I hope to evoke a sense of past and resolution. A lot of my most personal fears are that of a nihilistic pondering, and my own path out of that spiral (quite akin to Okoyomon’s) is to form a greater than ever connection with the world around me. To dive head first into that void without ideology, without hope or redemption and find peace and meaning in that co-existence. As Cioran states: “ to exist has only one meaning: to dive into suffering - until the exercise of a day-by-day nirvana action raises him into the perception of unreality.”
