As a human bearing the unique burden of existence, the question of “being” has always plagued me. Why do we exist? What brought us here into the world? How should we exist? Who are we, and who am I?
If we search for meaning in existence, is art the result or the tool?
Within this amorphous world, it is awareness and expression which gives us a sense of self. The art I make is a visual encapsulation of a fragment of myself: whether it is a journey of inward self-reflection told within One Ninth, or a empathetic outward glance captured in Through Her Eyes. It is the job of the artist to find these pieces of themself frozen in time; trapping their fleeting ideas, their momentary emotions.
As an artist, I hope to not only portray the most candid version of my experiences through my art, but also hope that these re-tellings of my human experience can reach you, the audience. It is human nature to long to create something which will outlive us. To make a mark upon the world. I hope that seeing my creations will show you these versions of me preserved through expression.
